Bridge Technologies Unveil QTT Monitoring

Bridge Technologies has introduced the QTT Application, a software solution that autonomously monitors and authenticates playback of protected content on video platforms. The application assigns software workers that continuously verify authentication against digital rights management (DRM) systems, retrieve live services from content delivery networks (CDNs), and emulate end-user playback across a high-density mesh of video players.

The QTT Application provides continuous monitoring of authentication processes while collecting operational metrics such as player alarms, time to playback, interval to first picture, and profile selection errors. These insights help assess the health and performance of video platforms and CDNs, while picture analysis and alarm notifications enable verification of programming and advertisement insertion.

As next-generation over-the-top (OTT) video deployments become more decentralized, the QTT Application supports comprehensive assessments of OTT platforms from a centralized network location and enables detailed verification of CDN behavior in specific geographic regions.

The application integrates with the VB330 probe and VBC controller, with Bridge Technologies handling custom integration to match each customer’s DRM system. A high-density, fully redundant suite of players replicates real subscriber behavior using customer-premises equipment (CPE) devices to ensure continuous service monitoring.

Decrypted video thumbnails are streamed to the VB330 for further analysis and historical logging, allowing engineers to configure alarms for content issues such as frozen screens or blackouts. Network engineers receive alerts on service publishing accuracy and potential CDN performance issues. The application also supports timeline storage of thumbnails and service level agreement (SLA) reporting, making it valuable for real-time error detection, long-term diagnostics, and strategic planning.
