Bob Carver Announces 20-Watt Stereo Vacuum Tube Amp
Bob Carver LLC announced this month a new 20-watt stereo amplifier called the Black Magic 20 (model: VTA20S). A screen voltage regulator and DC restoration circuit minimizes crossover distortion and output tube power dissipation. The 1.5-ohm output impedance coupled with current and voltage feedback loops also allows the amp to listen to the room via feedback from the speakers. It’s rated (conservatively, according to Bob Carver) at 20 WRMS in two-channel stereo mode or 40 WRMS when used in single-channel mono mode.
