Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 Camera Debuts
The new Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 digital film camera features completely redesigned electronics and a new Super 35mm 4.6K HDR image sensor with 15 stops of dynamic range that can shoot up to 300 frames per second. Images are recorded using Blackmagic RAW, so you can choose compression levels up to 12:1 and still get images that are good enough to be used in feature films. Best of all, that means you can record 4K DCI onto standard, inexpensive SD UHS-II cards. In addition, URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 features a new USB-C expansion port so you can record directly onto external drives.
You also get built in ND filters, an interchangeable lens mount, external controls, a backlit status display, foldout 4″ touchscreen monitor and professional audio recording.
URSA Mini Pro cameras are “three cameras in one” because they combine digital film quality with the features and controls broadcasters want. URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 features independent controls for direct access to the most important camera settings. Buttons, switches and dials are laid out in a logical order that makes them easy to find by feel while using the viewfinder. This means you’ll be able to adjust settings, add an ND filter or even change frame rate without having to fold out the touchscreen or take the camera off your shoulder.
