Big Changes Ahead

olivia-0813It’s been far too long since I’ve shared my wit and charm with the lovely bloggy world. Haha, only kidding!  I have some BIG news, AND life changes that I’m beyond excited about!  The time has finally come for me to share these changes with my favorite #AVTweeps! On June 29th, 2013 my boyfriend  popped the question every girl longs to hear…”Will you marry me?” And of course I said YES! Our engagement initiated planning my relocation to Reno, Nev. where my fiancé is from. This move naturally inspired a job search.

As you know, I’ve been with Pakedge Device & Software for about two years and seven months.I have loved every moment of it, from website editing, press communication, brochure writing, and the famous CEDIA EXPOs. This job has opened my eye to a whole new world and inspired me to work harder and dream bigger. While I knew I had to soon resign from Pakedge, I also knew I did NOT want to leave the industry. The custom residential market is a tight knit group of creative, innovative and hardworking people. So many of you have become some of my best friends and mentors, and I couldn’t image losing that and starting all over in a new industry. I began to pray that some way, some how, I could find another job out in Reno still in the industry.

Now here is where the story gets good! Last month I headed out to the HTSA Marketing Summit. During the introductions, a man stood up and mentioned that he was a business owner in Reno Nevada. My ears perked up and my heart started to pound…”did he really say RENO?” During the break I approached him and shared my story. Turns out Keith was the president of Sierra Integrated Systems, an HTSA Member and CEPRO100 Dealer. I couldn’t believe my luck. Keith and I continued to talk over the course of a few weeks and I’m excited to announce that I will be joining the team at SIS in October!

This is a HUGE change going from manufacturer to dealer, but I couldn’t be more excited. I am ready for these new challenges, and experiences on the other side of the spectrum. Continue to follow my blog to join me in this new journey as I learn the ways of an integrator.

In the mean time… I’d love to hear your insight! What kind of wisdom can you offer me as a dealer?

Cheers to new adventures!
