Biamp announced updates to its cloud-based Biamp Workplace platform, extending support across more phases of the customer journey — from system design to deployment, tuning and optimization. The update introduces four new features: Location View, Workplace Designer, Workplace Command and Workplace Tools.

Location View provides a real-time, visual overview of system status within floorplans. Using actual maps of buildings and campuses, administrators can quickly identify and locate system issues.

Workplace Designer integrates the functionality of the existing Conference Room Designer into Biamp Workplace. Cloud-based access allows users to save, reuse and link designs to specific organizations, sites, buildings or rooms— supporting consistency and future scalability.

Workplace Tools, a new mobile app for AV technicians, supports onsite tasks by connecting to the cloud platform. Its first feature uses NFC-enabled smartphones to retrieve technical information from Voltera amplified loudspeaker controllers, even when the devices are powered off. Technicians can access configuration data, status, active faults, and network details directly from their phones.
