Beyerdynamic Releases Third Generation of Tesla Hi-Fi Headphones

Beyerdynamic’s new T1 and T5 — the third generation Tesla Hi-Fi headphones will be available for purchase in September 2020. The T1 headphone, with its open design, offers a three-dimensional sound experience using Tesla sound transducers. While the T5 is a closed high-end headphone — it allows users to listen to music without external noise. Once again, the transducers are arranged in their classical tilt, and beyerdynamic says that makes it sound like being at a live performance.

Both headphones are powered by transducers based on beyerdynamic’s Tesla technology. Developed and manufactured at the beyerdynamic headquarters in Heilbronn, Germany, the Tesla transducers claim to deliver high sound reproduction even if the source is a less than perfect music player. Both models are Hi-Res Audio certified and guarantee a high-resolution sound playback. Every piece of music is reproduced with all its detail — no other headphones get that close to the original recording.

The T1 and T5 both have yokes of anodized, brushed aluminum, and their headbands are covered with Alcantara.

The T1’s housing cover is a perforated pattern that was machined in the lacquered stainless steel and the T5’s cover is a structure with brushed and lacquered aluminum.

The T1 and T5 have textile-covered cables that are plugged in at both ends. The cover makes the cables more flexible and a pleasure to handle. Because they have removable cables, they can be easily replaced. The textile sheathing also protects the high-purity OCC7N copper conductors, which ensure the best possible signal transmission. Both headphones can be enjoyed at home with mobile devices due to their 32-ohm impedance.

The T1 and T5 are available September 1, 2020.
