BenQ Unveils True-to-Life Monitor Lineup for SIGGRAPH 2015

php1d4FdlPMCOSTA MESA, Calif. — Aug. 6, 2015BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned digital lifestyle solutions provider, today announced its exciting product lineup for SIGGRAPH 2015. Powered by the company’s Eye-Care technology, BenQ’s leading class of professional creative monitors features innovations such as 100% standard Red, Green, Blue (sRGB) color accuracy, lifelike 4K2K resolutions, as well as application-specific functions such as CAD/CAM and animation modes to bring more intuitive detailing to any precision-based project. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from Aug. 11 to 13, SIGGRAPH 2015 provides close-up views of the latest in digital art, emerging technologies, and hands-on opportunities for creative collaboration and computer graphics research.

“Our creative class of monitors provides image-based professionals such as designers, engineers, videographers, and photographers with true-to-life color reproduction and sector-specific optimization modes that streamline workflows for complex projects,” said JY Hu, Vice President, Business Line Management at BenQ America Corp. “At SIGGRAPH 2015, BenQ is proud to add the PV3200PT video editing monitor to our award-winning solutions, allowing videographers and post-production professionals to experience the sharpness of 4K UHD, simplicity of non-disruptive calibration software, and comfort of BenQ’s RevolutionEyes technology.”

Engineered to safeguard visual comfort and decrease eyestrain, BenQ’s groundbreaking RevolutionEyes™ technology is designed to protect the eyes during extended periods of computer use. Using ZeroFlicker™ capabilities, monitors eliminate flickering at all brightness levels for a healthier visual experience. When combined with BenQ’s Low Blue Light technology — which effectively filters visual exposure to the release of blue spectrum light — the company’s Eye-Care devices provide users with a unique proposition that seeks to protect vision without any impact on onscreen content or monitor performance.

New for SIGGPRAPH 2015 is BenQ’s PV3200PT, the company’s purpose-built monitor for today’s professional video editing applications. Featuring 4K UHD resolution, the 32-inch device delivers incredible color precision via 10-bit, 100% sRGB color, following the Rec. 709 standard. The PV3200PT specializes in reproducing color tones with a Delta-E value of less than or equal to two, and features a 14-bit 3D Look Up Table (LUT) to display the most accurate color mixture for improved RGB color blending. This results in impeccable color and gray tone reproduction. In addition, the monitor offers a brightness uniformity function enabling it to maintain a consistent image across the entire display. By balancing brightness to a deviation and chromaticity <10%, the monitor offers a more consistent viewing experience. Individually tested to verify performance, the PV3200PT also features easy hardware calibration by allowing users to adjust the unit’s image processing chip without altering graphic card data. Further capabilities include ergonomic customization including height, tilt, pivot, stroke, and swivel adjustments, in addition to an OSD controller to switch seamlessly between various modes and settings.

Engineered for today’s photography enthusiast, BenQ’s innovative 27-inch SW2700PT photography monitor uses a high pixel count, 10-bit color simulation, and 99% Adobe RGB to reproduce incredibly precise details for any digital photography project. Featuring QHD 2560×1440 resolution, the IPS panel specializes in reproducing color tones with a Delta-E value of less than or equal to two, and features a 14-bit 3D LUT to display the most accurate color mixture for improved RGB color blending. This results in impeccable color and gray tone reproduction. With BenQ’s proprietary Palette Master Element calibration software, users can tune and maintain the color performance of the monitor at its most optimal state, while hardware calibration allows for adjustments of the monitor’s image-processing chip without changing the graphic card output data. The SW2700PT also comes equipped with a shading hood, external controller, and a black-and-white mode that lets hobbyists easily edit and view black and white photos without losing any of the details or tones of the original photograph.

Made specifically for graphic designers, color re-touchers, and printers requiring accurate and consistent onscreen color matching, BenQ’s PG2401PT provides reliable, printing-certified soft proofing precision at an incredibly affordable price. The highly acclaimed, 24-inch color management monitor is also FograCert Softproof certified, as well as SWOP & GRACoL certified by the IDEAlliance to ensure that on-screen colors visually match off-the-press colors for accurate reproduction. Facilitating seamless collaboration between professionals, the IPS panel covers 100% CMYK and 99% of the Adobe RGB color space, and is designed to take advantage of today’s most popular cloud-based color proofing services such as Adobe’s Creative Cloud and PantoneLIVE. The PG2401PT specializes in reproducing color tones with a Delta-E value of less than or equal to two, and features a 14-bit 3D LUT to display the most accurate color mixture for improved RGB color blending. This results in impeccable color and gray tone reproduction. In addition, the monitor features a brightness uniformity function enabling it to maintain a consistent image across the entire display. By balancing brightness to a deviation and chromaticity <10%, the monitor offers a more consistent viewing experience.

For 3D printing, CAD, and CAM applications, BenQ will be demonstrating its 4K UHD BL3201PH 32-inch professional monitor. The IPS panel enables 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles to bring 77% more working space to users while displaying 4K graphics at 3840 x 2160 resolution — enabling higher pixels per inch (ppi) for a sharper, more precise viewing experience. The device also features picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture to facilitate switching between screens when working on multiple projects. To ensure color integrity across the design process, the BL3201PH is purpose-built to follow the sRGB industry color standard — today’s widely used guideline for color accuracy in smartphones, monitors, cameras, printers, and now even projectors.

BenQ’s BL2711U is the world’s first 27-inch 4K2K monitor specifically created for designers. Combining 100% sRGB with BenQ’s IPS technology, users gain an incredibly precise 10-bit panel that renders over one billion hues — ensuring that images are displayed with rich, life-like color integrity. Certified by SolidWorks, the BL2711U also covers the Rec. 709 color space while the unit’s 3840 x 2160 resolution offers over 300-percent more work space when compared to traditional FHD displays. In addition, the monitor provides a 1000:1 native contrast ratio and 20M:1 dynamic contrast ratio to deliver an amazingly high ppi density. Featuring a CAD/CAM mode, the BL2711U allows users to bring out detailed object wireframes in software packages such as Pro/E, SolidWorks, AutoCad, and CATIA.

BenQ will also be hosting guest lecturers directly from the company’s booth on all three days of SIGGPRAPH 2015. Starting on Aug. 11, Art Suwansang, X-Rite Coloratti Master and Professional Wedding Photographer, and Chris Bai, BenQ Product Manager/Color Scientist and ICC Delegate, will present “The Importance of Color Management with Video and Ensuring Proper Skin Tone Reproduction” from 10-10:40 a.m. and from 3-3:40 p.m. On both Aug. 12 and Aug. 13, Bai and William Innes, X-Rite Coloratti Master and Professional Wedding Photographer, will present “Workflow for Photographers” from 10-10:40 a.m. and from 3-3:30 p.m.
