THIS IS A PROMOTED POST
Behind the Booth at InfoComm 2025 gives you a front-row seat to the people and products shaping the show floor. In this sponsored series, we sit down with top executives from InfoComm exhibitors to find out what they’re showcasing, which trends they’re watching and how they’re pushing the ProAV industry forward. This interview features Dave MacKinnon from Clear-Com.
Q: Why is Clear-Com exhibiting at InfoComm 2025, and what are you most excited to showcase this year?
A: InfoComm is where the ProAV community comes together to exchange ideas and experience the latest technologies firsthand. For Clear-Com, it’s a vital show that we attend yearly as it allows us to connect with our Partners and end-users across multiple industries. This year, I’m especially excited to showcase our new award-winning FreeSpeak Icon beltpack and significant updates to Arcadia Central Station.
Q: What trends do you expect to see dominating the show floor, and how is your company positioned to lead or respond to them?
A: I expect to see continued momentum around flexible, software-based solutions, hybrid workflows, and intelligent resource allocation, and those are all areas where Clear-Com is leading. Our Gen-IC virtual intercom continues to evolve for the hybrid world, and Arcadia’s newest updates introduce dynamic port allocation, which lets users scale and customize their systems without unnecessary complexity. And we’ve had 10 years of experience and refinement of our app offerings (Agent-Ic and Station-IC) which are market leaders in communications software. We’re responding to the industry’s call for smarter, more adaptable systems that integrate easily with existing infrastructure and workflows.
Q: Which new products, solutions, or updates are you featuring — and how do they address current needs in the AV industry?
A: We’re featuring FreeSpeak Icon, which combines the flexibility of a panel with the portability of a beltpack. It’s a direct response to the demand for more mobile, operator-centric solutions in live event production and complex installations. It’s incredibly customizable and something I wish I had when I was in broadcasting.
We’re also introducing updates to Arcadia Central Station, which brings support for V- Series IrisX panels and offers more scalable keypanel deployments without requiring a full matrix frame. We’ve introduced dynamic port allocation within Arcadia, allowing users to reassign HelixNet and I.V. Direct ports as needed. That means more power, better customization, and lower cost of ownership.
On the virtual front, Gen-IC, Agent-IC, and Station-IC are all returning with feature enhancements. In particular, Station-IC, now supports third-party control surfaces like Streamdeck and Skaarhoj, giving users the tactile experience they’ve asked for.
Q: How is your company supporting integrators and end users in navigating today’s biggest AV challenges — not just at InfoComm, but year-round?
A: At Clear-Com, we take pride in listening closely to our customers and building solutions that solve real-world problems. We know integrators are being asked to do more with fewer resources, so we focus on building systems that are easier to configure, scalable without excess hardware, and versatile across a range of applications. Our global support team and training resources are always available, and we work directly with partners to ensure success at every step, from design to deployment and beyond. Our year-round commitment is to deliver solutions that are not just technically advanced but also intuitive, reliable, and field-ready.
Q: Why should InfoComm 2025 attendees make a point to stop by your booth?
A: Intercom isn’t always the most exciting tool to talk about, but it needs to be reliable, efficient, and flexible. We have made big leaps forward in those directions with our latest product offerings. At Booth #4154, you’ll get a hands-on look at the latest gear, including award-winning virtual intercom solutions, our most advanced wireless beltpack, and major upgrades to Arcadia. Whether you’re in live events, enterprise AV, higher education, or broadcast, you’ll find solutions that fit your workflow, and our team of experts will be there to help you see what’s possible.
Q: Anything else you’d like to share ahead of the show?
A: Clear-Com has always focused on real-time communication that enables professionals to do their best work—whether that’s backstage, in a control room, or across continents. What excites me most is that our latest releases push those capabilities even further while reducing friction for users. We look forward to welcoming you at InfoComm and showing you how we’re enabling the future of intercom.
