Barco said a U.S. federal jury has awarded the company more than $900,000 in damages after Yealink admitted to infringing six patents tied to Barco’s ClickShare wireless presentation technology. Barco disclosed the outcome in a Dec. 2 update, noting the verdict covers roughly one year of sales of Yealink’s WPP20 and WPP30 devices in the United States.
The ruling stems from a lawsuit Barco filed on Nov. 14, 2023, in the Eastern District of Texas, according to court records. Yealink later admitted to infringement during the proceedings, a fact reflected in multiple amended answers and referenced in an October 2025 court order. The case continued through procedural motions into late 2025 before reaching the jury verdict described in Barco’s announcement.
Barco said the jury’s findings ensure the continued removal of Yealink’s WPP20 and WPP30 products from the U.S. market. “We welcome the jury’s award of over 900,000 USD in damages for Yealink’s infringement of Barco ClickShare’s patents,” said Kurt Verheggen, general counsel at Barco. “The jury’s verdict ensures the continued removal of Yealink’s infringing products from the U.S. market. We will carefully monitor the industry and prevent resellers of collaboration tools for video conferencing on online platforms and web shops from further reselling Yealink’s WPP20 and WPP30 devices in the U.S.”
ClickShare, introduced in 2012, provides wireless presentation and collaboration through a hardware button or software app. Barco says the technology is supported by more than 110 patents worldwide.
Yealink issued its own statement on Nov. 20, saying the jury in the same case did not find willful or indirect infringement and awarded what it described as a reasonable damages amount. Yealink said it suspended U.S. sales of the WPP20 and WPP30 in April 2024 and initiated a recall of distributor inventory. The company also referenced ongoing Inter Partes Review petitions and ex parte reexamination requests challenging the validity of Barco’s asserted patents.
According to Yealink, the litigation affects only the WPP20 and WPP30 and does not impact the company’s MeetingBar, MeetingBoard or RoomCast products. Barco did not address those categories in its announcement.
