Barco’s new PDS-4K is an 8 x 2 (+2) 4K matrix switcher with mixing program outputs for both live events and permanent installs. The PDS is base don the Barco Event Master platform and incorporates its Athena scaling technology for seamless mixing and switching.

The PDS-4K is compatible with all the Barco visualization solutions and collaboration tools for integration. The device can be controlled with Event Master Toolset but also has an API, so it can also be combined with Barco Overture or other third-party control systems.

Aimed at mid-sized live shows, corporate presentations in larger meeting spaces, multipurpose auditoriums and boardrooms, the PDS-4K enables single-screen and dual-screen switching with 4K processing. It can also support Dante audio with the addition of an optional interface card. It includes six 4K inputs and two 4K mixing program outputs — with two additional distributed outputs. Integrated with low-latency processing (≤ 2 frames delay @60Hz), you can show two live inputs simultaneously with a plethora of PiP layers.
