Barco debuted three “heavy-duty” three-chip DLP projectors aimed at rental and staging. The brand-new HDF-W22 offers 22,000 lumens light output, the HDF-W26 claims 26,000 lumens and the HDQ-2K40 has an amazing claim of no less than 40,000 lumens. What’s more, Barco’s HDX-W18, HDF-W26 and HDQ-2K40 projectors will be available with a unique adjustable brightness feature called ‘light-on-demand’ technology, where users can tune the light output of their projectors to address ambient lighting conditions.
The HDF-W22 and HDF-W26 are native WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution, while the ultra-bright HDQ-2K40 offers a 2K (2048×1080) resolution. The projectors are controlled via a built-in color LCD screen with a preview mode and users can control their projector via a smart phone – that could be interesting in a staging application.
The HDF projectors will be commercially available as of Q3 2012, while the HDQ will be available as of Q4 2012. The Barco light-on-demand technology will be available through a simple firmware upgrade as of Q4 2012.
