AVer Information announced the company has joined the SRT Alliance, the open-source initiative dedicated to overcoming the challenges of low-latency video streaming. Video streaming is expected to account for 82% of all internet traffic in 2020. As part of AVer’s overall strategy to deliver the best video experiences to its customers, the company will continually support innovation in its hardware, software and partner streaming technologies. Joining the SRT Alliance provides AVer customers with another option to address latency and security issues when streaming its video.

The SRT Alliance, founded by Haivision in April 2017, already has more than 400 members. Its mission is to overcome the challenges of low-latency livestreaming by supporting the collaborative development of SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) Open Source. SRT is a free open-source video transport protocol and technology stack originally developed and pioneered by Haivision that enables the delivery of high-quality and secure, low-latency video across the public internet.
