AVer Debuts AI-Enabled Camera for Hospitals That Detects Patient Instability and Alerts Caregivers
AVer Information has announced the MD720UIS, a medical-grade, all-in-one PTZ camera designed for patient monitoring and telehealth applications. Equipped with Edge AI and an Android operating system, the MD720UIS can install and run multiple applications in Picture-in-Picture or split-screen modes. It includes two-way audio with AI noise reduction for clear communication and offers AI fall and bed-exit detection, as well as face and eye tracking, to assist medical staff. This enables the device to support various AI-powered applications for diagnostics, patient monitoring, and other healthcare needs.
With IR night vision and AI-powered fall and bed-exit detection, the device provides 24/7 monitoring and instantly alerts caregivers to adverse events, ensuring rapid response and improved patient safety. Featuring 20x optical zoom, 4K imaging, and PoE++ connectivity, the MD720UIS delivers high-quality video while using a single Ethernet cable for both data and power. To support privacy, the MD720UIS includes two key features: Local Privacy Mode, which disables audio and video transmission so no information leaves the room, and a mosaic effect, which automatically obscures bodies or faces in the field of view.
The MD720UIS offers flexibility for use as a PTZ telehealth camera or a virtual nurse on medical carts or at the bedside for patient monitoring. It integrates seamlessly with various medical devices, allowing for valuable images and data to be displayed on a TV or monitor. The MD720UIS is TAA and NDAA compliant and holds the EN 60601-1-2 medical certification, underscoring its adherence to industry standards. The camera is covered by the AVerCare three-year warranty program, including 24-hour replacement in the first year.
