AVAD Collaborates with My Guys Know How for Paul Mitchell Installation

Scottsdale, Ariz. — April 23, 2018 – AVAD dealer, My Guys Know How (MGKH), is a custom installation team serving both residential and commercial customers with both pre-packaged and customized solutions. MGKH recently completed a high-visibility project with Professional Salon Concepts, a distributor for worldwide haircare giant Paul Mitchell in Chicago, with the support of AVAD. Working closely with AVAD, the team at MGKH installed a sophisticated broadcast TV system to support Paul Mitchell’s multi-site stylist training program for more than 300 participants nationwide.

Professional Salon Concepts wanted to implement audio and video broadcast capabilities to support a growing training program at its Chicago-based school. By implementing broadcast capabilities, Professional Salon Concepts would be able to utilize a feed to allow students the opportunity to learn from master stylist Paul Mitchell. Following a needs assessment, AVAD’s expert System Design team worked closely with MGKH to develop an efficient design and installation plan for the school’s 16,000 square foot facility in downtown Chicago.

“One of the main reasons we like working with AVAD is the close working relationship with our local rep, who’s always ready to help,” said AVAD dealer and MGKH founder and president, Bryan Talkie. “The other reason is AVAD’s System Design team, which makes my job so much easier. Bottom line: We’re partners and invested in each other’s success. It was scary to let go of the design piece but, as expected, AVAD was a completely trustworthy partner, which made the project easier and honestly–more fun.”

This project proved challenging as it was the first time image004.jpgMGKH allowed anyone to take the reins and design one of their projects. AVAD was up for the challenge and did not disappoint.

“Professional Salon Concepts, a distributor and educator of Paul Mitchell, created a project that is another example of how AVAD can support and advance dealers with complementary services to get the job done,” said Phillip Parrish, Manager of Pro AV for AVAD. “Bryan nailed it when he said we’re invested in each other’s’ success because AVAD is wholly committed to the success of our dealers. Ultimately, the project featured broadcast equipment in multiple classrooms as well as conference and boardroom gear. AVAD also helped modify the on-site system, remotely programming elements to address technical challenges and maximize performance.”

The AVAD collaboration has also paved the way for some new prospects for MGKH.

“I took a chance, entrusting my system design to someone else–a monumental turning point for me,” Talkie said. “But now I feel like I can confidently quote other jobs this way. We already are talking to other Paul Mitchell sites around the country and we’ve had the chance to bid, win and install other projects designed by AVAD.”
