AV Power Up! – Episode 21: We Dig Up the “Lost” Episode (19)

PowerUP_logo0708Technology. If we all lived in a perfect world (like Johnny), every single installation would go like clockwork, clients would all be happy, sales and customer service people would always go to work whistling with a smile (right Stacy?) and life would be one big selfie party.

And then reality sets in – technology challenges us every day, integrations don’t all go perfectly (those 7PM emergency two hour service visits still exist), sales and customer service people have to jump through hoops at times to keep those end users happy (right Stacy?), and life is a come home at the end of the day and make a beeline right to the refrigerator to grab a beer (wait, that’s a good thing isn’t it?).

WiFi can be described as strong, medium or $^&#@*!. One of our Crew (umm Jeremy) was in a hotel – yeah, no one ever has problems dealing with hotel WiFi – and unfortunately one of the great segments in the show was “compromised” by that hotel’s WiFi (our lawyer sent a threatening letter). So a decision was made to put this one aside and do another show – Episode 20, to address that subject of millennials, and more.

The Episode 19 that you listened to with George Fournier of FSR (who returned to do it again – thanks George!) was recorded the next day and we did a few different things in that podcast.

On this show, along with George we welcome:

Joel Rollins (@JoelRollinsAV) with Everett Hall Associates and a long time rAVe-ite (host of The WEEK)

Christa’s back from Ireland (we think)! On this one George brings the bacon and FSR stuff (sorry Johnny), and we have great discussion with Joel on numerous topics including his background in the industry, Amazon Dash buttons and music – including the greatest power trio out of Canada – who Joel has worked with – Rush (and a visit to the dentist you HAVE to hear about).

Bitcoins! Why? What do they matter? Well, Jeremy would have told us if it wasn’t for the fact that every time he talked he sounded like 10100010101110101011…

Chuck (of course) Powers Up with discussion on the recent podcast he did with a few fellow industry professionals and talks here about structuring AV systems for “everybody.” For the first time ever Johnny went Robo (remember RoboChuck?). Technical difficulties? Darn you WiFi!!

Rich goes totally unauthorized with “That’s a Lotta Wiahs” (umm, someone still thinks he’s the host) and those Hot Jobs – solid gold.

phpBpQtHZAMSo – if you’ve ever dealt with a “lost” show episode, we found this one just for you. Oh yes, and crappy WiFi…

Power Up!
