AudioQuest News SLiP XTRM In-wall Cables
AudioQuest is pleased to introduce our SLiP XTRM in-wall cables. A significantly refined version of our award-winning SLiP-DB, these installer-friendly designs feature an improved True-Concentric geometry with an outer layer of our high-purity Perfect-Surface Copper conductors for even lower distortion. Among CL3/FT4-certified in-wall cables, we believe SLiP XTRM sets the standard for performance and ease of use.
True-Concentric Conductors: The conductors in SLiP XTRM feature a more advanced form of Semi-Solid Concentric design that we call True Concentric. Semi-Solid Concentric conductors use fewer, larger strands that do not change position down the length of the cable. True-Concentric conductor technology pushes this concept even further, by having each layer of strands spiraling in the opposite direction from the one underneath. Electrical-contact strand interaction is meaningfully reduced since there is more contact pressure on the points of contact rather than lines of contact. The net sonic result of this is lower distortion, improved resolution and greatly reduced harshness and confusion due to strand interaction.
Long-Grain Copper/Perfect-Surface Copper Conductors: While the central area of SLiP XTRM conductors use
low-distortion Long-Grain Copper (LGC), the outer layer of conductors switches to Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) with it’s astonishing smooth surface. It is this outer layer of conductors that have the most eect on SLiP XTRM’s clarity and smoothness. Careful application of PSC and LGC enables performance closer to using only the more expensive PSC, while gaining the economic advantage of the superb LGC.
