Audinate Adds Media Encryption Support for Dante Platform
Audinate announced the availability of Dante Media Encryption in the latest firmware releases for its Dante Embedded Platform (DEP) and Brooklyn 3 modules. Updates to Dante Director and Dante Controller accompany the release, supporting secure AV workflows at scale.
Dante Director now includes a built-in Key Management System (KMS) that automatically generates, distributes and rotates encryption keys. Keys are only shared among devices actively participating in a media flow, reducing security risks through automatic and regular key rotation.
Administrators gain detailed control over encryption enforcement through channel-level policies. This flexibility allows secure and legacy devices to operate within the same system, making the update well-suited for mixed environments such as public sector networks, university IT systems and financial institutions.
Within Dante Controller, users can now view the real-time encryption status of each device in a Director-managed site, with indicators identifying compatible endpoints and improving visibility for AV teams managing secure systems.
Dante Media Encryption is available via firmware updates for many existing Dante devices. Manufacturers including Yamaha, Sennheiser, Symetrix and Powersoft plan to support the feature in upcoming product releases.
