Atlona to Ship HDVS Extender/Scaler Family With HDMI® Plus VGA and Audio

atlona-logoSAN JOSE, Calif. — June 11, 2013 — Atlona® today announced that the company will soon be shipping its HDVS extender/scaler family of products. Designed to facilitate the analog to digital transition in schools and corporate settings, the products support HDMI® computers, Blu-ray™ players, and document cameras, in addition to the numerous VGA computers still in use today. The HDVS transmitter and receiver family will be available in both box and wall-plate form factors.

“Our new components amazingly enable both HDMI and VGA/analog audio to be input to bigger switchers when used in larger and more complex applications,” said Bill Schripsema, CTS, commercial product manager, Atlona. “They also enable HDBaseT distances on both inputs and outputs, as well as scaled/de-embedded audio on selected inputs. For the ultimate in flexibility, the receiver can also be combined with any Atlona transmitter, while the HDCAT, PRO2, or PRO3 matrix switchers can be used if a scaler is required on a specific output.”

For easier installations, the HDVS extender/scaler family of products uses Power over Category Cable (PoCc), which only requires power from the receiver — allowing a single category cable to transmit signals up to 230 feet (70 m) via HDBaseT™ technology. With various input selection options, sources can be selected either automatically or through RS-232 control, while displays can also be controlled using RS-232 commands.

The HDVS extender/scaler family will be available August 2013.
