Artison Ships Industry’s Smallest Subwoofer
Artison is shipping its first freestanding subwoofer — the RCC Nano 1 — as of today. The Nano 1 subwoofer is $999 and the wireless transmitter is available for $99. The RCC Nano 1 measures only 7.5” x 8” x 9” including feet and grilles and claims to produce 300-watts — the equivalent of an 8” woofer.
Outfitted with variable crossovers and dual active 6.5” long throw aluminum drivers, the Nano 1 is designed to generate omni-directional, low-frequency sound waves. The Nano 1 incorporates reactance cancelling (vibration free) design, which insures not only frequency response, but also secure placement — they say that’s crucial in a freestanding speaker. Constructed of 6061 T6 Aluminum, the Nano’s enclosure is both rigid and thin, which are both highly desirable subwoofer characteristics.
