Hello everyone, and welcome to this month’s issue of rAVe RADIO! It’s me, the usual suspect, Steph Beckett, sending this sucker out to you once more. It has been quite the month for AV — ISE moved dates to the same month as InfoComm (ah!) and DSE is canceled for good as Exponation filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
There are also some new companies on the block — everyone say hi to Nialli! If you’re familiar with Nureva (or have ever wanted to be) I recommend getting to know them with via Gary’s Rants & rAVes episode 1008.
Also within this newsletter, Mark Coxon is hitting us with a sub-series of his Selling AV podcast series — in which he talks about cold calling. It’s probably something you’re at least a little bit familiar with during the pandemic, after all, you need customers! So, Mark will help you by using each of his episodes this month to talk about another piece of advice. Viva la cold-calling, #AVtweeps! Go forth, make your calls!
Even with all the ground-shaking news this month I hope you all have found moments of clarity within our industry. Whenever my friends from other various industries ask me what it’s like working here, I always tell them it’s hard, ever-changing, fast-paced but worth it.
I hope you all think that too.
Have a good week and happy (almost) October! If any of you need me, I’ll be watching “Hocus Pocus” on a loop.
