Happy Monday, #AVtweeps! I hope you all made the most of your weekend and are entering the week swinging. Today we have a blog from the one and only Gary Kayye! He writes about how streaming has already picked up during COVID-19. You all know something about that. You’ve likely had to stream worship services and “go virtual” because … what other option did you have. But Gary’s point is — think about how streaming can continue to get better and more professional-looking. It already is; manufacturers are catching the vibe that better streaming quality is what you need right now.
Here is your chance, people. Reflect on how you can integrate social media into what you’re already doing. If you can, hire younger people to run said social media and integrate streaming there. We’re always talking about how to keep this industry fresh. If ever there were a time to do that — it’s now.
Let’s face it, in March and April of this year, the best we could expect to deliver was very reactive. Unless you were already streaming services each weekend, it’s unlikely you had time to respond proactively to COVID. And, this summer, as states and countries started partially reopening, adding streaming via consumer platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo were considered big wins. Affordable, simple and effective.
