If Thanksgiving is something that you celebrate (under non-COVID circumstances), I am sure that it will look different for you this year. I won’t lie; I’m used to my dad and grandma working in the kitchen for days leading up to Thanksgiving and cooking enough food to feed me plus my extended family for DAYS afterward. This year, I won’t get to see my cousin, aunt or uncle. My little sister, who usually comes home for the holidays, stayed put in Canada this year. (She’s really fine, though, she ate some poutine or whatever y’all eat on Canadian Thanksgiving.)
I tell you this somewhat pointless anecdote because Scott Tiner draws upon thoughts of the same thread in his most recent blog I’ve included. With all of the safety guidelines we now have to adhere to, and all the things we had no idea would be a priority at this point, do you think there will be a rise in home studio technology? Not gonna lie, that would be something I’d be interested in! I’m curious to hear what you think about this in the HOW community. I know companies like PTZOptics are quickly offering solutions for this setup — as in-person worship is still a little too close for comfort in most areas. Is it one of those things that will skyrocket until COVID runs its course? Or is it one of those “some things never change” scenarios where we continuously wonder whether we’ve pinpointed the next big thing, but it doesn’t quite catch on?
Let me know on social media! Tweet at me or something.
No matter how you spend the rest of this week/weekend, I hope you find a moment or two of happiness.
Stay cool.
