I don’t really know what phase we’re in anymore. That sounds deeper than I mean; I’m talking about the phase of reopening during COVID-19. It seems like we’re in this weird limbo because everyone is holding their breath until the second wave hits — but then what happens? More specifically, I pose the question of what happens to houses of worship? One of my co-workers here at rAVe mentioned to me that her church has been hosting drive-in services. Is that what we should expect for this market in the immediate future? If so, I hope you’ve picked out some great projectors, people. (By the way, I don’t have the answers to any of my questions — I just want to support critical thinking and preparation.)
To help you stay in that frame of mind, I’ve added Scott Tiner’s column to this issue of rAVe HOW. It’s no secret that September was a wild one. Scott breaks that down for you to get a sense of what’s next for trade shows. The last two columns are from Nathan Haynes and Omar Prashad. Nathan is talking about the lack of mentorship in our industry and how different it could be if more of us made an effort to bring in new voices. Omar’s column is about why offering free things to clients right now might not be the move.
Take a look at the product news section for updates from the likes of Eventide, LG Business Solutions, Visionary, Ashly Audio and Marshall Electronics (plus more, but that’s a lot to list out here.) Also, we have a few case studies to give you a sense of how different companies are helping houses of worship to be the best they can be right now — and check out a guest post from Paul Richards of PTZOptics so you can get a tour of his livestreaming studio.
Later!
