If you’ve been affected by the Great Slack Outage of 2022, congratulations on your quiet morning! If you did not know about Slack being down, I’m here to tell you that you probably did not get fired, and your company did not kick you out of the Slack account without warning. It’s just down!

Now that’s out of the way, I have Kayye’s Krystal Ball for all of you to read. As I’m sure you know, every year, Gary Kayye makes predictions for tech for the next year: what will be significant, what will work, what won’t, etc., and he analyzes his forecasts for the previous year. To be quite honest, his past couple of years of these have been so fun! 2020-22 have been practically impossible to predict — so it’s been fun to see what Gary thinks about the state of our industry.

The second piece I have from you is from Sara Abrons! She writes about chips. I’m not talking about Tostitos. We’re talking semiconductors. “Now, Steph,” you may be thinking. “Why should I care about that?” Because it all connects! CPUs are made with semiconductors. Tons of other things are made with them, too — we must know just how much goes into making one and what might happen if that process goes awry ….. shortages, anyone?

Happy Tuesday!
