In one of his latest columns, Scott Tiner asks us whether there is innovation in AV. Have you seen any truly disruptive products in the past few years? Read the column and let him know on social media!
In our other column this time, Mark Coxon writes about some lessons we can take from sports and apply to business — no matter what segment of the industry we’re in.
In technology, we often use terms like innovation and disruption. Yet, in our industry, I have been thinking lately about the lack of true innovation over the past few years. I have to think that some of this has to do with the pandemic, after all it is hard to innovate when you are simply trying to keep your businesses and families healthy. While the shortage of chips and other products certainly has not helped, one could argue that necessity should have been the mother of invention. But from where I am sitting, that has not happened.
We should be focusing on our ability to adapt to whatever the world sends our way. In business, where we often look to consultants or industry peers to follow their lead, that can be hard, so I decided it might be fun to shift our mindsets and look for lessons from other areas. With that, I invited an industry friend, who also happens to be an amazing running coach, Amelia Vrabel, to share some lessons from sports that may be of use in our businesses.
