Back in the old days, projectors weren’t bright enough for churches that had a lot of ambient light — like a lot of windows — and monitors weren’t big enough to help with image magnification of the pulpit. Same with any house of worship, in fact. So, a lot of progressive organizations started buying and building churches with very little windows and outfitting them with projection used for both image magnification and environmental design.
But, now, you can do that in any environment. With new technologies like laser projection, you can put projectors anywhere and they’re bright enough for any environment — even outside, in many cases! And now we have flat screen displays as large as 103″+. So let the light back in! Just the last 12 months, all the leading projection companies have introduced all-new laser projection lines bright enough do use anywhere in your facility and smart enough to project anywhere with new image mapping technology (you don’t even need a screen anymore in many cases). For example, got the new projectors from companies like Epson and NEC, below. In NEC’s case, we actually just took a tour of their brand new facility with a briefing center designed for customers to come in and see displays in any possible environment!
Finally, like to draw your attention to a new column by Fred Ampel — it’s all about how to best spend your money and garner fellowship from your members at large. I hope you enjoy it.
