And so it begins. The next few issues (including this one) will be packed with
InfoComm 2019 and
UB Tech Conference news — both shows are happening at the same time next week. The annual mega-AV show, known as InfoComm, is in Orlando, Fla., next week but the news is already pouring in — at a record pace. And, to help you aggregate it all, we’ve set-up a dedicated
InfoComm Microsite here. As for UB Tech, it’s a niche show aimed at higher-ed (universities and colleges) AV professionals and we will be covering that, too. In fact, our co-founder, Gary Kayye, is the keynote speaker for UB Tech — see that story below! We’ve also set-up a dedicated microsite for all our news, podcast and videos we will shoot at UB Tech, too,
here.
By the way, one thing differentiates our coverage — we are the only AV publication where you can read, listen and/or WATCH the new product news. Unlike most of our competition who only shoot product videos in booths where they are being paid to shoot them, we will actually send our reporters (this year, 37 of them to InfoComm and six to UB Tech) to EVERY single booth on the show floor and we shoot videos of everything we see. We expect to shoot over 1800 videos between the two shows and, again, they’ll all
be posted here (for InfoComm) over the next week and a half —
and here for UB Tech. So, go back often! We can’t possibly post all 1,800 at one time so it takes us a few days.
But if you are heading to either of those shows next week in Orlando, PLEASE say hello. I will be at UB Tech Monday (delivering the Keynote at 4 p.m. and then walking the show floor from 5-7 p.m.). And, I will be at InfoComm Wednesday — Friday all day, every day! If you stop by our booth (in the lobby of the convention center — you can’t miss it), and I am not there, ask for a FREE rAVe t-shirt! They’ll give you one!
This issue has over 30 new product stories — can you believe it? But, my favorite story in here is one near the very top — the announcement of our
2019 Readers’ Choice Awards. Again, unlike most other AV pubs, we don’t do play-for-play awards. So, these are un-sponsored, un-paid and unbiased. I hope you’ll check out the winners!
Enjoy this issue of rAVe’s AV Buyers Club and if you’re heading to InfoComm say hello to one our our reporters when you see them on the show floor — they will be working 15-18-hour days next week and they could use a smile!
