Gary was joined today by Chief’s Director of Product Management Nathan Bohl, who used rAVe RADIO as a platform to debut the company’s new ConnexSys video wall mounting system. The system will simplify video wall mounting and maintenance with the ability to mount an entire wall from one point, speed leveling, quick-release pop-out maintenance, and six point height, depth, lateral and tilt adjustments. This new system will debut, officially, at the DSE show in Vegas next month. You can listen to the interview with Nathan here. |

Episode 204: All About ISE – We’re LIVE in Amsterdam! |
I caught up with Paul Ingebrigtsen, the CEO and President of Williams Sound, and he actually demo’d the new Digi-Loop for me as well as showed me the brand-new Digi-Wave-Dock that basically allows the Williams Sound assistive listening and tour-guide portable wireless systems of the DLT 100 (digital transceiver) and DLR 60 (digital receiver) to work in fixed installs too. The Digi-Dock will actually make its official debut at ISE. The Digi·Loop induction loop amplifier is definitely state-of-the-art – the first of its kind to maximize modern amplifier technology. DSP audio processing offers flexible, powerful software control of mixing, equalization, compression, loop phase shift and more. Powerful Class D, pulse-width amplifiers maximize efficiency, and reduce size and weight. And network control capability provides seamless, remote system set-up, operation and monitoring via laptop, tablet or other portable device. If you’re in the assistive listening market, you should watch this! |

Episode 202: ISE Special: Sound Control Technologies to Show RC3x to Remotely Locate VTC Cameras Up to 100 Meters |
Did you know that it’s possible to remotely locate videoconferencing cameras — including video, control, audio and VISCA Loop — up to 100 meters from the VTC codec? Well, thanks to Sound Control Technologies and its new RemoteCam 3x, you can put a VTC camera anywhere you want one. Using standard low resistance UTP wire, the RC3x can send camera video, power, control and IR (both directions) to and from a codec so that room design isn’t determined by where the camera “must” be placed. Gary talks to Sound Control founder and president David Neaderland about the company’s RC3x as well as all that they’ll have on their stand (12-A84) at the Integrated Systems Europe show in Amsterdam. |

Arthur Holm is also launching a companion Dynamic Vision product at ISE for hiding Videoconferencing cameras. Episode 197: ISE Special: An Interview with Paul Ingebrigtsen, President & CEO of Williams Sound |
Williams Sound is one of ISE’s longest standing exhibitors at the Integrated Systems Expo in Amsterdam and at this year’s upcoming show, the company will launch two new products: the Digi-Loop and the Digi-Dock. If Digi-Loop sounds a little familiar, it’s because it was previewed at InfoComm 2013 as a prototype product. When it ships in February of this year, it will be the world’s first dual-amplifier with the option of a single 12A output for perimeter loops or dual 10A outputs for loop arrays or one loop and one loudspeaker (it’s also network controllable).
The Digi-Dock basically allows the Williams Sound assistive listening and tour-guide portable wireless systems of the DLT 100 (digital transceiver) and DLR 60 (digital receiver) to work in fixed installs too. The Digi-Dock will actually make its official debut at ISE.I spoke to Paul Ingebrigtsen, president & CEO of Willaims Sound, today about both products and the company’s plans for ISE. |

For all you REGULAR listeners of rAVe Radio out there, hopefully you enjoyed another opinion-packed issue!
For those of you NEW to rAVe, you just read how we are — we are 100 percent opinionated. We not only report the news and new product stories of the ProAV and HomeAV industries, but we stuff the articles full of our opinions. That may include (but is not limited to) whether or not the product is even worth looking at, challenging the manufacturers on their specifications, calling a marketing-spec bluff and suggesting ways integrators market their products better. But, one thing is for sure, we are NOT a trade publication that gets paid for running editorial or product stories. Traditional trade publications get paid to run product stories — that’s why you see what you see in most of the pubs out there. We are different: we run what we want to run and NO ONE is going to pay us to write or say anything good (or bad).
To send me feedback, don’t reply to this newsletter. Instead, write directly to me at gary@ravepubs.com or for editorial ideas, Editor-in-Chief Sara Abrons at sara@ravepubs.com.
A little about me: I graduated from Journalism School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (where I am adjunct faculty). I’ve been in the AV industry since 1987 where I started with Extron and eventually moved to AMX. So, I guess I am an industry veteran (although I don’t think I am that old). I have been an opinionated columnist for a number of industry publications and in the late 1990s I started the widely read KNews eNewsletter (the first in the AV market) and also created the model for and was co-founder of AV Avenue, which is now known as InfoComm IQ. rAVe [Publications] has been around since 2003, when we launched our original newsletter, rAVe ProAV Edition.
Everything we publish is Opt-in — we spam NO ONE! rAVe ProAV Edition is our flagship ePublication with what we believe is a reach of virtually everyone in the ProAV market. rAVe HomeAV Edition, co-published with CEDIA and launched in February 2004, is, by far, the largest ePub in the HomeAV market. We added rAVe Rental [and Staging] in November 2007, rAVe ED [Education] in May 2008 and then rAVe DS [Digital Signage] in January 2009. We added rAVe GHGav [Green, Healthcare & Government AV] in August 2010 and rAVe HOW [House of Worship] in July 2012. rAVe Radio, our podcasts, were launched in 2012.
