Chris Gillespie is back with a bang! His latest column is all about the way in which we frame collaboration. Why are we focused on technology first? Easy, because we’re a technology industry. But let’s think backwards. What do our workers do? How do they work? It’s no one-size-fits-all approach. But the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can continue developing solutions for meeting equity. We’re in this new frontier together, people, so we may as well work to make it better while we’re here!

We cannot escape the fact that almost all work is collaborative in nature. The more collaborative the environment, the better the outcomes. Whether we are talking about a distributed team in Silicon Valley and India working on some software widget or a tire shop training new staff, collaboration makes things better. We learn and grow and expand our experience via those we collaborate with. Collaboration (no matter how we choose to define it) really only has one objective — to enable people to work. Better. Together.
