Headlines today: rAVe’s Best of InfoComm 2022 Awards, Diversity in AV, and much more!
June 29, 2022 | Volume: 20 | Issue: 24
Welcome to THE BEST OF INFOCOMM issue of rAVe ProAV!
This issue, annually, is our most popular as it contains the winners of rAVe’s Best of InfoComm 2022 Awards. Each year, we send videographers to every single booth on the show floor at InfoComm to shoot videos of EVERY new product launched at the show. Unlike any other InfoComm Awards program, these are NOT pay-for-play awards. There’s no entry fee and there’s no nomination process – manufacturers can’t even enter their own products. Nope. These awards are picked via a collaborative effort of the entire editorial team inside rAVe [PUBS] who, collectively, watched every singe product vide and picked the best-of-the-best.
After checking out to see if your favorite product from InfoComm won an award, make sure you read Scott Tiner’s timely column on the importance of diversity in AV.
Finally, as we approach this mid-year break, I want to thank you, the #AVtweeps, for helping make us the Number 1 publication in AV, digital signage and UCC markets. We are honored and proud to be the primary news source for over 200,000 AV pros!
As we have for the past 12 years, we sent reporters from rAVe [PUBS] to every booth at InfoComm 2022 to shoot videos of new (and returning) products. We shot more than 1,100 videos, and we posted them all on our InfoComm 2022 microsite. Every year since we’ve been doing this, we’ve given out awards for the best-of-the-best of everything we saw — below are this year’s winners. To help you know why each product won, we’ve included links to the product video we shot on the show floor!
rAVe [PUBS] and many other industry publications have written recently about the great work of the AVIXA Women’s Council and its partnership with Rosie Riveters. Since this has been written about in many places, I won’t rewrite everything here. There are a few points I would like to make, however.
That all said, I attended a trade show (NAB) at the Las Vegas Convention Center in April 2022. Since I was only there for two days, I did not have a lot of time to find things to do, other than losing money at a casino. Since I knew about a new attraction that recently opened not too far from the convention center, I asked an associate, Peter Kim, to join me, and made our way to The Illuminarium to see, “WILD: A Safari Experience.”
