Latest headlines: Murphy Daley on working from home and how AV can help the transition, Megan A. Dutta interviews InfoComm first-timers
November 10, 2021 | Volume: 19 | Issue: 42
Hello everyone, and happy Wednesday! I don’t know if you all attended InfoComm 2021 or if you attended rePLAY 2021 (or both!), but a great point was brought up at both events: Why are we still calling it “hybrid work” when it’s really just work? When someone said this to me, my jaw hit the floor. 1. Because I couldn’t believe I hadn’t come up with that myself and 2. Because it’s so right!
Clarifying things as hybrid is soon going to be a thing of the past. We’ll all be working this way in some form or fashion. Why keep adding an extra clarification we don’t need? COVID-19 helped us prove we can work from planes, trains, Airbnbs and from the comfort of our own homes. Murphy Daley also writes about this in her latest column. AV tech proved to be the shining star to help everyone continue working throughout the pandemic. Let’s use that AV knowledge to continue helping customers/knowledge workers/etc. to keep working their best!
Anyway, I hope you get a chance to log in to LAVNCH and check out the archive of rePLAY 2021! And also check out our InfoComm microsite here.
Our AV technology suite had the conferencing tools and hardware from the beginning of the pandemic. But there are also occupancy sensors and room usage tools we can supply. Customers need to know about these tools and be provided with a vision of how they can be used. There are savings to be realized for the customers and retention strategies to begin in this office and WFH hybrid reality. Reducing and reconfiguring the office space will benefit our customers on many levels.
Each year, thousands of AV professionals gather together for InfoComm in either Las Vegas or Orlando. The show can feel like a giant reunion for your AV family, with networking events galore, new products to explore and classes to attend. #AVtweeps will proudly tell you how many years they’ve attended the show. But what about when it’s your first time attending InfoComm, and that inaugural show happens to be held in October in the middle of a pandemic? We spoke with first-time InfoComm attendees to get their initial impressions of the show — and to find out if they’d attend again.
It’s finally here — rePLAY 2021 is officially live on the LAVNCH platform! We’re so excited to bring you three days of content, including InfoComm 2021 coverage, playing THE GAME, words from sponsors and so much more. We wanted to create an event that recapped the year that was and is 2021 for all our #AVtweeps out there. Here’s a quick rundown from Day of 1 of rePLAY.
