Exciting stuff going on this week, #AVtweeps: First of all, let’s talk trade show news. Say goodbye to the ISE shows scheduled to take place this summer in Munich and Amsterdam. The organization had to cancel due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. In terms of trade shows in the U.S., TEC 2021 is happening now, and we have a team there covering it! We are thrilled to be back in action! Finally, CES has announced that its 2022 show will be 100% live. Does this mean … we’re going to be pretty much back soon? I hope so. I miss you people!
Second order of business: columns! Murphy Daley has a feature this week; she writes about honest communication when working on an AV project. She has a point! Sometimes it seems like the easiest thing to sugarcoat the truth to a client/customer, but you’re just creating problems for yourself down the road. Be upfront, and future you will be grateful.
Bob Snyder also has a column this week detailing a very cool extended reality entertainment space in Germany. It’s basically begging me to travel there one day to check it out. Gary Kayye says he thinks one day all malls will feature something like this. What do you think?
Also featured this week: product/solution updates from Extron, Biamp, HOLOPLOT, Green Hippo and more.
P.S. rAVe [PUBS] has a new assistant editor! You’ll start to see her byline soon, but until then, add Katherine Clark on LinkedIn and give her a warm #AVtweep welcome.
