Good afternoon, everyone! So sorry for the late email! As you may know, the rAVe team is back from ISE and we had a great time covering the show! Product videos are still uploading as we speak and you can check those out at ravepubs.com/ise2022. Also, if you didn’t make it to ISE this year, we are hosting rePLAY ISE 2022 on LAVNCH.com. This is your chance to see a tour of the show floor, some of our executive interviews and plenty of our favorite products! Also, unlike this newsletter (sorry again) we are curating a version of the event for a European time zone, so click here to join us at 11 a.m. BST.
That’s all I’ll leave you with — see you bright and early tomorrow morning!
One of the areas of work that suffered during the last couple years is collaboration, and there are a multitude of hardware and software solutions that have been introduced to address this problem. Cloud-based conferencing platforms like Zoom and Teams have whiteboard software options, platforms like T1V and Alleo allow people to create persistent workspaces, and there are now hundreds of interactive short-throw projectors and interactive whiteboard displays on the market. But even with all of these options, some people still love their analog whiteboards — in fact, a lot of people do.
Every company should fear a ransomware attack, but AV companies are in a uniquely precarious position. Our systems are closely integrated into our clients’ infrastructure and we are often privy to sensitive information. This one-two punch of trust and vulnerability makes for a tempting target. Add in many firms’ lackadaisical approach when it comes to basic cybersecurity precautions and it’s a small wonder that we don’t hear more horror stories.
This year’s ISE Show arrives in Barcelona on 10-13 May 2022. Speaking at a press briefing last week, Integrated Systems Events managing director, Mike Blackman, said: “I’m delighted, and honoured, to be standing here today five years since Integrated Systems Events, and its co-owners AVIXA and CEDIA, decided to relocate the Integrated Systems Europe show to Barcelona. After 16 years in Amsterdam, it was time for us to find a new home for our show, and in just two weeks’ time, ISE 2022 will open its doors at the Gran Vía, Fira de Barcelona.”
