One of my great friends once told me the trick to not crying when you’re cutting an onion.

“Just don’t cook with onions,” he joked.

For Tony “the AV Guy” Sprando, however, that trick probably wouldn’t cut it. Sprando loves to listen to loud music while he works, and for him, the solution isn’t just to stop listening to loud music to limit noise in a work-from-home environment.

So what do we do?

“When working from home, the noise of neighbors, family members and roommates can sometimes be disruptive. But once the problems are identified, you’ll find the most basic noise issues come with basic noise solutions,” says Sprando and Kate Couch in their co-written column this week. Find their noise-masking suggestions here.
