Last we spoke, we were in an exciting vortex of virtual events — with Futuresource Consulting’s Audio Collaborative 2020, Almo’s E4v (all five wrap-up stories we did are linked here) and a few LAVNCH & Learns powered by rAVe’s new event platform, LAVNCH. Another exciting one to put on your radar comes from AVIXA and the DSF; D=SIGN: The Digital Signage Conference, powered by LAVNCH, takes place Dec. 8-9 this year, and it’ll be a fun one. The event is marketed to integrators, retailers, higher-ed professionals and agency executives — but, really, it’s for anyone who needs to know about the digital signage ecosystem. It’s free, so why not register and use the day(s) as an opportunity to learn a thing or two (or take a little break from your regular day-job programming)?

Moving right along, what do you think about the product/industry news this week? A few standouts to me: When one door closes, another one opens; high-end screen manufacturer Vutec has closed its doors. AVI Systems, on the other hand, acquired Avyve, an AV integrator headquartered in Georgia. And I imagine you heard about the newly formed Sharp NEC — not a merger but a joint venture? More good news: Integrate 2021 is happening! (Story is below.) Who else besides me wants to go to Sydney in July next year?

Over two days, the 2020 conference, a virtual version of the show this year, tapped a lineup of industry experts to inspire a listening audience. Who was that audience? AV, technology and IT stakeholders looking at new behaviors in the context of audio innovation — with the end goal to become stronger and ready to capture upon the opportunities to come.
