Hey, #AVtweeps, resident rAVe copywriter here coming to you fresh off a week OOO (and a much-needed week OOO after an odd, confusing summer and a very long year). Being away for ~a week, I feel like I missed a lot. Did I miss a lot? I’m catching up, just as you may be, with the newsletter below, where we see that, this week, ProAV has been moving and grooving.
Some standouts: Bob Snyder’s take on Microsoft’s efforts in audio, the DPAA’s Video Everywhere Summit taking place Oct. 13-15 (with some powerhouse speakers to boot), moves in UCC from RingCentral and Poly, new esports gear from LG (plus a column from Chris Bull of Futuresource on that same market), significant software updates from Roland, a partnership between AJA Video Systems and Audinate, updates to Vivitek’s digital signage solution, a new “Alliance Program” between Barco and key manufacturer partners, and a lot (like, a lot) more. Also of note: The revolving door of AV personnel revolves again — Control4 founder Eric Smith is now with SAVI.
This weekend was the bright spot of my 2020, and I hope, wherever you are, you’ll experience yours soon too, if you haven’t already — whether it’s a nice socially distanced drink with friends (even if it’s just over Zoom) or a reunion with family. Enjoy.
