I’m writing to you on day three of LAVNCH WEEK 2.0. You may have heard about it — it’s rAVe’s new virtual event platform for the AV industry, with product launches, industry education and more. In fact, yesterday of LAVNCH WEEK 2.0 was ProAV Day; I wrote about it here. Did you watch? For me, one of the highlights of the day was a head-to-head matchup between the major players in signal compression and AV-over-IP. It got feisty. If you missed it, I heard you can still register for LAVNCH WEEK 2.0 to watch, but only for a limited time.
There are quite a few “mic drops” in our ProAV newsletter this week: LG entering the projector market, what Gary actually calls a “mic drop” from Zoom to Cisco/MS Teams/BlueJeans/Google Meet, Extron bringing BYOD to AV room control. Also, we heard that Rich Ventura is heading to Sony after 19+ years at NEC Display. You can read about that below. Lastly, today is the FINAL day to participate in our ninth annual Readers’ Choice Awards. Go vote! And let us know what you think about the news below. We don’t want to be the only ones running our mouths here.
