Happy Wednesday, AV pros and fans! One of my favorite news pieces this week was a story about Planar launching Planar Studios, an initiative designed to revolutionize the virtual production (VP) and extended reality (XR) markets. The studio combines hardware, software, services and LED displays to provide a one-stop shop for VP and XR production. Don’t miss it below!
Also, Lee Distad brings us our first column and discusses why salespeople should have a standardized process for their business and clients. “Why You Need to Build a Funnel” gives a great overview on why having a structured approach for tending to existing and prospective clients is a key part of creating revenue, regardless of the size of your sales team. Though this “funnel” is not always linear, it does provide a good outline. Check it out below!
Our second column, “Pitch Perfect in Berlin,” is Bob Snyder’s latest piece about a Berlin start-up that just raised $85 million. Its mission is to change the way we present and collaborate online. The company is aiming for a full publishing and content ecosystem; the complete platform for presentations. A contender to PowerPoint, Pitch could just have the next big communication platform — if only they had Anna Kendrick!
