Last we spoke, most trade shows in March, April and May had been canceled or postponed. At the time, June’s InfoComm was still up in the air. If you haven’t heard, the official cancelation announcement came from AVIXA on March 30. While we’re bummed there will be no InfoComm in 2020, we feel it was the right decision to make for the community.
One of our columns this week is from Lee Distad, who finds a way to bring us a little optimism. Distad asks, What are you doing with the extra time on your hands? Are you, like Distad, working on operational tasks that you’ve been putting off for a long time? What about online training, updating best practices or evaluating business processes? These are just a few suggestions, and I have to say, these suggestions are pretty aspirational (albeit impressive)! For me, it’s catching up on the little things — calling my grandma, writing letters to my nieces and nephews, taking my pup on extra-long walks in the morning, building something with my hands (I sit at a computer all day for work), and jumping in to help a coworker on a task.
It’s a balance, both personal and professional, that we’re all trying to figure out. But at least we’re all trying to figure it out together.
See you next time,
