Welcome (to) Home(AV),
Looks like we’ll have to wait another year and three months for the next in-person CEDIA Expo. Yep — since we last wrote, Emerald Expositions officially canceled this year’s show planned for September 2020. In its place, CEDIA Expo is producing a virtual experience that will include keynotes, product discovery and an interactive expo hall. Registration for the virtual CEDIA Expo isn’t open yet, but you can find more info via our story on it below. That said, two events you can register for today to *catch* the latest AV innovations and *snatch* those CTS RUs:
1. InfoComm 2020 Connected (June 16-18): Get the details via our story below. 2. LAVNCH WEEK 2.0 (June 22-26): rAVe is back with round two! Registration for LAVNCH WEEK 2.0 is officially open here: rave.pub/LAVNCHRegister2.
You’ll want to check out Lee Distard’s column today with his intel on troubleshooting in an era of COVID-19 — “Things are weird right now” is right. “Unexpected things ahead” is also right. Also, did you catch the news from Crestron, Parasound and Powersoft? Scroll down, why dontcha?
Things are weird right now. As I’ve said in other columns, business is still being conducted, just differently. And, I’m sorry to say, at a slower tempo. Some things still need to get done, though. And one of those things is tech support and troubleshooting, whether it’s for an existing installation or a new install that’s being completed (with proper safety protocols in place, of course).
