Welcome rAVe Europe readers, to our newly designed newsletter format. We gave it a little bit of a face-lift, just to integrate rAVe Europe a bit more closely into the rAVe [PUBS] family (you’ll see the news below links to the ravepubs.com website), but a few things will remain the same. We’re still committed to bringing you the best coverage of the European AV market. Bob Snyder is still on board, writing and digging up all the most interesting European news. Don’t miss his column about the world’s first 3200-megapixel image.
Below you’ll see a few new sections — Product News and Industry News cover news happening within Europe, while the Technology to Watch section holds news from outside of Europe that’s significant enough to still warrant coverage or is of interest to those of you who like to keep an eye on the global AV technology market.
There’s a lot of news packed into this issue, but the biggest news is, of course, that ISE has been pushed back to 1-4 June 2021. rAVe’s Sara Abrons spoke to AVIXA Senior Vice President of Expositions and Events Rochelle Richardson about the move — she said this was a decision made collaboratively by all the many stakeholders involved in the event. (ISE is co-owned by AVIXA and CEDIA.) OK, sure. But what about InfoComm, AVIXA’s other big AV show, which is already scheduled for June 2021 in Orlando, Florida? Richardson said that InfoComm was not going to move and that both events for 2021 would happen in June. They looked at attendee demographics, and ISE is primarily attended by travelers coming from Europe and Asia; InfoComm has 11% from Europe. February was looking less likely to be safe and a decision had to be made. So it seems the two events will just be a bit more regionalized this year, at least for attendees. This will be hardest on the exhibitors, no doubt. As always, we will give you more news as we find out more.
