Hello everyone! It’s Gibson and I’m hopping on to welcome you all to the newest edition of the Digital Signage newsletter!
This edition includes one of my favorite recent columns, written by Alan C. Brawn. In it, he discusses the need for regulations and guiding principles regarding the use of artificial intelligence in ProAV and digital signage. I like this piece because it shows examples of proactive steps that can be taken to regulate AI usage, such as the G7 summit’s guiding principles.
In my opinion, we’ve reached the point with AI where there’s no point in trying to stop it—as Brawn says, the genie is already out of the bottle. Our next steps with AI should be to regulate it and curtail any possible abuses of the technology rather than simply griping about the dangers it poses sooner rather than later.
