Hello, Ed #AVtweeps! Happy Friday!
Check out the latest and greatest by Scott Tiner, all about the new PRISM Scholarship. This scholarship will help those underrepresented in the AV industry to become a leader in higher ed tech. It includes a one-year Elite Membership to AVIXA, access to a virtual CTS prep course, exam fees for the CTS exam, mentorship by a HETMA member and a trip to an InfoComm show. I love to see organizations working hard to encourage new people to join us!
Also, Rob Voorhees at Almo writes about fear. Is the fear of failure at business keeping you from your full potential in your career? Rob says that even if you try something and fail, it’s OK as long as you learn something and allow it to propel you forward. Read more about how to turn the fears in your career into strengths.
At InfoComm 21, the Higher Education Technology Manager’s Alliance (HETMA) joined with AVIXA to announce the PRISM Scholarship. According to HETMA, “The Prism Scholarship was founded by HETMA in partnership with AVIXA to encourage women, LGBTQIA+, Black, Latino, Asian, Indigenous, disabled persons, and anyone who identifies as being underrepresented in the AV industry, to become active leaders and role models within higher education technology.”
So you had a bad quarter, but you have a great story on your activity levels, a full pipeline and some ideas on how the next quarter will be even better! Before you know it, you are feeling encouraged, fresh and ready to attack in a positive manner. That is how we fight the fear of failure. You cannot let the negativity creep in and overrun the positive attributes.
