There are three great columns below from Lee Distad, Johnny Mota and Christopher Jaynes. Lee is a believer in the aphorism (among others): How you do one thing is how you do everything. Yes, it’s another best practices column! But can you really read too many of those? Check it out at the link below! Further, Johnny analyzes the difference between outdoor spaces, an outdoor environment and how to get from one to the other. Christopher then talks about how to avoid the data-driven trap. He begins the column by saying “while we don’t always talk shop,” so it is definitely a good read. Enjoy!

+ Building Product: Avoiding the Data-Driven Trap [Christopher Jaynes]
I’ve always preferred an ‘innovation driven – data validated’ approach to building new products – and I think it’s paid off. The innovation-led process focuses on some simple principles: direct and ongoing customer dialogues that are focused on framing problems to be solved; a creative phase that challenges the product designers to then provide an ideal solution; and data-validation then takes place around the innovative solution.
