This week’s newsletter is giving me “growth” vibes: Growth beyond the pandemic, growth in our careers and growth in our industry. Speaking of growth, we just finished LAVNCH Week 4.0 and got a live look at the now and the next of all things AV. THE rAVe Agency has had a busy week here in the office — you can catch up on the action here.
We’ll start off with a quick look at “Professional Audio in AV — Emerging From a Pandemic.” James Kirby gives us some insight into the challenges pro audio faced, and the confidence that is building around the future of live events. What parts of pro audio will see the most growth as live events begin to make a comeback this year?
Mark Coxon also talks about growth and seeing the bigger picture in “Down 7, Up 8.” Inspired by the highs and lows in our career lives, this blog shows us the importance of coming out on top — despite the losses we may face every now and then.
What growth have you begun to see in the rental and staging industries? Happy Thursday, AV pros and fans! I hope you have a great Memorial Day Weekend if you’re in the states, and I’ll see you next time!
The professional audio market has traditionally been an area of long-term growth, driven by macro factors and innovation across a range of vertical and product segments. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 came as an unprecedented shock to the industry, negatively impacting many of the industries which previously provided long-term growth for audio equipment. Significant challenges faced pro audio during 2020, and still many of the same conditions apply this year, however the commencement of vaccine roll-outs and a clearer timescale of recovery are providing greater confidence across the market.
I saw a license plate today that read “DWN7UP8,” and it really struck a chord with me. In a society where we are always being measured, compared, monetized, KPI’d and ROI’d, it’s hard not to get caught up in where you are RIGHT NOW. However, like life, our careers are a journey. A long game where we take some losses, we have some wins, and the goal is the net sum. Down 7, Up 8 sews that up quite succinctly.
