Hello, rental friends! Since the last couple of weeks when I wrote, things have been a little hectic around here! But I guess you have been busy as well, getting everything together before the end of the year. I’ll take you on a quick tour of this newsletter; then, I’ll leave you to it.

We start with a column from Gary Kayye about how streaming is not a “one-and-done scenario.” I feel like you all know that by now. Rental has been very creative about utilizing streaming technology to keep events and concerts happening even during the COVID lockdown. Just look at the two case studies I’ve highlighted this week for proof. Gary also makes a great point that even in the before times, Gen Z and millennials were already pro-tech — and prefer online communications. So if you’re wondering who will be into a livestreamed concert, it’s that audience who will be all over it.

+ From Facebook and Beyond [Gary Kayye]

Let’s face it, in March and April of this year, the best we could expect to deliver was very reactive. Unless you were already streaming services each weekend, it’s unlikely you had time to respond proactively to COVID. And, this summer, as states and countries started partially reopening, adding streaming via consumer platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo were considered big wins. Affordable, simple and effective.
