Hey everybody, happy Thursday! I hope you’re all having an excellent end to the week, and you’re finishing out strong. In this issue, I want to talk to you briefly about the importance of original thought. It’s no secret that in a lot of ways, original thought gets you further than regurgitating information does. This is how Mark Coxon explains the grading scale at his daughter’s school. But how else can we extend this example? Learning about how sound works, maybe, and then applying that concept to designing sound for a space? Relating the concepts of sound to the concepts of architecture? The list goes on. Our industry needs people who not only understand concepts and themes but people who can relate those and expand those into real applications. I challenge you to show yourself and everyone else in the industry that you can take those extra steps and thought processes!
Also, in this issue, please enjoy the product updates from the past couple of weeks, including news from 7thSense, Roland, Lumens, Matrox Video, Epson, AVer and more. Plus, for your reading pleasure, I’ve also included two pretty cool case studies: one about the tech used to create a virtual audience for Britain’s Got Talent — and the other is about how LVT Audio contributed to an eight-day festival in Gaia.
