“We at rAVe are not here to prognosticate about precisely what the future will look like, except to say that we do know what it will include: faster change.”
Anthony Coppedge sums up the latest sentiments in rental/staging nicely in his latest column. While specifically pining for AV to move to an Agile strategy, Coppedge’s points apply all around — pivot faster, be agile, listen to the customer.
You’ll see some news and industry updates below that we hope represent the rental/staging industry doing just that — pivoting faster, being agile and listening to the customer. That means product-line expansions, extended support and unexpected solutions for the new world we live in — like Riedel’s DistTag (I imagine that’s a portmanteau for “distance tag”). It’s a distance-monitoring device that people literally wear around their neck or carry in their pocket, and it alerts its wearer whenever social distancing is about to be breached — three signal levels include a vibration alarm (haptic), a three-stage LED signal (visual) or a three-stage sound signal (acoustic). Cool or dystopian?
Oh, and in competitive-product news this week, we learned that Glory Star launched its own line of TAURI temperature-screening tablets (an interesting story there, since Glory Star was initially partnered with Aurora Multimedia on the TAURI; Aurora now brands its version as TAURI+ReAX). That tantalizing story and more below.
