Hello everyone! I hope you have all stayed safe and healthy since I last wrote to you. Last time, I wrote a little bit about how the Chainsmokers held a regular shmegular concert (no social distancing/no masks) in the middle of a pandemic. They aren’t the only ones. NC-native country singer Chase Rice is currently being criticized for more or less the same thing, as are a handful of other artists.
But — and hear me out — isn’t there sort of a niche market to help out artists that want to do virtual concerts? I know many have done quick things on Instagram Live and what-have-you, but I know other artists are looking for help for a more professional sound setup — specifically for streaming.
Just food for thought as we’re all looking for different roles and jobs we can make work during these wild times.
If you’re here because you want to read the news instead of reading any of the weird stuff I have to say, you’re in luck. This week, I have two columns for you: One from Mark Coxon on surviving and thriving in the current AV climate, and Scott Tiner on the purpose/upsides to a recharge center. We could all use one of those, am I right?
I also have product news galore for you today from the likes of LG, Panasonic, Marshall Electronics, Waves Audio, Vivitek and more.
Alright, speaking of virtual concerts, I’m going to go hit up Rolling Stone’s In My Room series. Because as an avid Beach Boys fan, I love me some Brian Wilson (although he could use a better home audio setup but we will continue this discussion at a later date).
Bye ~~
