In the U.S., California’s (re)shutdowns have made headlines. Feeling frustrated, I got to thinking: The past few days have really forced me to revisit the events I was so excited for this year but will have to miss or postpone — like a concert I was going to attend with my sister featuring one of our favorite bands. Like my favorite beer festival usually held in downtown Raleigh every April. Like my own wedding. It’s tough to be optimistic in the middle of a pandemic, but it’s even tougher when you see other places getting the virus under control but not your own country. For now, I’m just trying to stay informed, keep up with the latest news, and do my part by wearing a mask and staying home as much as possible. Also, yes, my almost-weekly T.J. Maxx (or T.K. Maxx if you’re in Europe or Australia) runs have been severely cut down this year. Which, come to think of it, is probably a good thing.
In his column today, Joel Rollins shares insights from people also vastly affected by all this — event planners. Find the story below, and give it a read to glean what these professionals will be asking us in AV for when it’s finally showtime. He writes, “Remember, this isn’t forever. Once again, allow me to remind you: Time marches on.” As always, Joel’s perspective is appreciated. I’ll hold onto that simple but powerful statement, “time marches on” as I go about my life and you all go about yours.
That and plenty more rAVe Rental [and Staging] news below. Stay safe and well, #AVtweeps.
